# API reference

> The versioned contract for GOL's locally implemented developer API.

The API pages in this section come from the platform's versioned OpenAPI document. The docs generator changes only the declared format version to OpenAPI 3.1 so Mintlify can read the source's JSON Schema null unions. Endpoint fields and response shapes remain generated from the owning API source.

This reference describes the **current local control-plane implementation**. Its server URL is `http://localhost:4100`; it is not a claim that a hosted API is deployed. The interactive playground is disabled until a safe, public test API origin and release process are established.

## Authentication

Email challenge and session endpoints support developer sign-in. The console uses those endpoints through its server-side route handlers. A project API key authenticates `GET /v1/whoami`; use `Authorization: Bearer <test-api-key>` from your server. Session tokens and API keys have different purposes and should not be interchanged.
